

Mary Frances Tochterman, of Kokomo, passed away at 12:44 a.m. Friday, November 28, 2014, at Century Villa Healthcare in Greentown. She was born April 21, 1926, in Kokomo, to the late Warren and Mary Jane Monroe. She married John F. Tochterman in February of 1947, and he preceded her in death in February of 1972.
She retired from the Kokomo Library having previously worked at the Mary Mac Shoppe. After retirement, she spent several years as a nanny and enjoyed watching the Chicago Cubs and tending her garden and flowers.
Frances is survived by children, Patricia A. (Bill) Burns, Mukwonago, Wisconsin, Penny E. Tochterman, Kokomo, and John D. (Jane) Tochterman, Greentown; brother, Clarence Monroe, Kokomo; grandchildren, Tara (Jim) Kelly, Riverview, Florida, Brad Burns, Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Andrew (Sarah) Tochterman, Carlsbad, California, and Amanda (Jacob) Medlen, Greenwood; great-grandchildren, Devin and Ashley Kelly, Dylan, Jacqueline and Luke Tochterman, Carson and Ryleigh Medlen; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Frances was preceded in death by her brothers, Arthur and Raymond, and sister, Phyllis.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday in the Chapel of Peace in Sunset Memory Garden Cemetery with her grandson, Andrew Tochterman, officiating. Burial will follow.
