Mary Helen Webb

Mary Helen Webb, 92, went home to the Lord on July 4, 2026. She was born on August 28, 1933 in Hawkins County, TN to the late Johnny and Eliza Carpenter. Helen lived a life marked by steady devotion to family and the quiet strength of a hardworking spirit.

Helen spent many years working at Kroger, where she took genuine enjoyment in her time there, and she also worked at Delco. Above all, Helen was a wonderful mother who adored her children and grandchildren. Known as “Mamaw” to many, she found her greatest joy in the simple, meaningful moments: playing games with her grandchildren. She especially cherished the warmth of the Florida sun while walking on the beach.

Helen will be remembered with respect and gratitude, and her love will remain a lasting presence in the lives of those who knew her.

She is survived by her daughters Kathy Courtney and Connie Sexton; grandchildren Michelle Glosser (Brad), Jim Pierce, Carol Ann Powell, Anthony Shelly, Susie Lorsung (Jeff), Amy Christopher (Alan), Gary Webb, Jamey Turner, Brooke Turner, Holly Turner, Nicholas Sexton, Adam Sexton (Stephanie), and Cassie Wright (Tim); 31 great-grandchildren, 12 great-great grandchildren, and 1 great-great-great grandchild.

In addition to her parents Helen is preceded in death by 2 children Linda Shelly and Gary Webb; son-in-law Chuck Courtney; 6 siblings Bea Barnes, Ina Walker, Jim Carpenter, Midge Ross, Betty Bean, and Dave Carpenter.

Helen's family would like to thank the staff of Legacy at Waterford for their loving and compassionate care.

She will be laid to rest privately on Monday, July 13th in Sunset Memory Garden Cemetery.
