

Maudie Ellen Sanders, 69, Kokomo, passed away on Tuesday, April 15, 2014, at her home. She was born October 5, 1944, in Sullivan County, Kingsport, Tennessee, to Bascom Harold and Garnett (Stiltner) Sisk. On October 14, 1964, in Gate City, Virginia, she married Richard “Dick” J. Sanders, Sr. and he survives.
She formerly worked at Eastman Kodak in Kingsport, Tennessee, and later devoted herself to being a homemaker once her children were born. She loved to garden and work in her yard and was a member of New Hope Baptist Church.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by sons, Richard J. Sanders, Jr., and Charles R. Sanders, both of Kokomo; daughter, Pamila J. (Douglas) Dieselberg, Norton Shores, Michigan; grandchildren, Dugan Dieselberg, Declan Dieselberg, Dylan Dieselberg, all of Norton Shores, Michigan, Trenton Sanders, and Chelsey Sanders, both of Kokomo; and a half-brother, Jimmy Sisk, Norton, Ohio.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Walter Jack Sisk; and sister, Nancy Sisk.
The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Sunset Memory Garden Funeral Home with Pastor Michael Sawyer officiating. Entombment will follow in Sunset Memory Garden Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
