Melanie Starr Lewis

Melanie Starr Lewis, 47, of Kokomo, Indiana, passed away on September 28, 2022. She was born on December 14, 1974 in Kokomo, IN the daughter of Oral Eugene and Deborah Karen Smith (Owens). On June 7, 1997 she married Daniel Lewis who survives. Melanie graduated from Kokomo High School in 1993 and at the Marion School of Nursing in 2009. She enjoyed caring for others while working in local nursing homes. Melanie loved spending time with her family while camping, boating, and going to the beach. She also enjoyed cooking meals for her family and friends. She was a member of Southcreek Church of God in Kokomo for twenty years. Surviving relatives include her husband, Daniel Lewis of Kokomo, IN; daughter, Bracy Krug (Dakota) of Peru, IN; Christian Lewis of Kokomo, IN; mother, Debbie Smith of Kokomo, IN; brother, Michael Smith of Kokomo, IN; sister, Christie Jacobs (Mark) of North Redington Beach, FL; grandson, Cleo Krug and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Wednesday, October 5, 2022 at Sunset Memory Garden Funeral Home 2097 West Alto Road Kokomo, Indiana 46902. Burial will be at the Marion National Cemetery in Marion, IN. Visitation will be 12:00 PM - 2:00 PM Wednesday, October 5, 2022 at the funeral home.
