Michael D. Marcum

Michael Dean Marcum, age 56, of Kokomo passed away suddenly on April 28, 2015 at his residence. He was born on May 25, 1958 in Albany, KY the son of the late Charles R. Marcum and Ollie M. (Rednour) Marcum. Mike served his Country in the United States Army, United States Army Reserve, and the United States Air Force Reserve. Mike was a very proud of his service and very proud to be a Veteran. On October 26, 1999 Mike married Elsie (Franklin) Marcum and she survives. He was avid motorcycle rider who loved owning Harley Davidson bikes. He was also the proud owner of a custom chopper. Mike will be remembered as a wonderful husband, father, and papaw.

Mike is survived by his loving wife Elsie Marcum; children, Courtney (Dave) Andrus, Raymond (Amber) Hockersmith, Candice Thompson, and step-children Austin & Jessica Harmon; brother Dennis (Rosie) Marcum; sister Linda Epstein; 4 grandchildren Olivia Hockersmith, Valeri Hockersmith, Ella Andrus, and Emerson Andrus.; several nieces & nephews; and his faithful dog Buster.

Mike was preceded in death by his parents, brother Randall Marcum, and step-son Michael Persinger.

A funeral service celebrating Mike’s life will be held at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, May 5, 2015 at Sunset Memory Garden Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Sunset Memory Garden Cemetery. Visitation for family and friends will be held from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm on Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be given to the Wounded Warrior Project through the funeral home.
