Michaelyn Rae Burns

Michaelyn Rae (Ford) Burns, age 74, of Kokomo, Indiana passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 30, 2025, at approximately 1:15pm. Michaelyn was born in Kokomo, Indiana on August 12, 1951, to Foister and Mary Ann (Newton) Ford. She graduated from Northwestern High School, class of 1969. She worked in the bakery at Kroger for 20 years. She then worked to receive an Associate Degree to become a surgical technician.

Michaelyn enjoyed sewing, crocheting, gardening, antique shopping and reading. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandkids.

Surviving to honor her memory are her children; daughter, Johnalyn (Dani) Hillman; step-daughter, Leslie (Tim) Pickering; step-sons, Jason (Jody) Burns and Jeremy (Terra) Burns; grandchildren, Tyler (Abigail) Burns, Taylor (Tyler) Hook, Montez Burns, Lacey Pickering, Lannon Pickering, Trevi Hillman, Brody Burns, Joshaya Burns, Burke Burns, Akeelah Hillman, Layton Pickering, and Kingston Eldridge; siblings, Sandy (Mark) Davis, Cynthia Ford, Jay (Mary Ann) Ford; as well as multiple nieces and nephews.

Michaelyn was preceded in death by her parents, Foister & Mary Anne Ford, and her son, Joshua Jay Jenkins.

A memorial visitation for Michaelyn will be held Sunday, November 9, 2025 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Ellers Mortuary & Community Center, Inc., 725 S. Main Street, Kokomo, IN 46901, followed by a celebration of life service from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM.
