Miriam "Pinky" N. Quirk, age 87, of Kokomo, passed away on Friday March 23, 2018 at Brookdale Assisted Living in Marion, IN. Miriam was born February 28, 1931 to Bessie Ann (Myers) and Rev. Elmer J. Clem in Anderson, IN. She married John Quirk on July 9, 1965 in Monticello, IN. He preceded her in death on May 18, 1998.
Miriam graduated from Frankfort High School in 1948. She retired from Delco Electronics on July 31, 1992 after 39 years and she belonged to the U.A.W local 292 for many years. She was a member of In his Image Church previously known as First General Baptist Church for over 10 years. Miriam was known for her baking and cooking skills as well as growing rose bushes. She also enjoyed shopping, working jigsaw and crossword puzzles, and horse racing.
She is survived by daughter Joyce Smith (Leland), son Gerald Fryback, grandchildren Cherie Calobrace, William Brewer (Traci), Mike Ference, 11 great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren, brother in law P.D. Quirk (Janet), Max Quirk, Marty Quirk, Wayne Quirk (Patty), Paul Munsell, sisters in law Martha Quirk, Louis Glaze (Johdon) and several nieces and nephews.
Miriam is preceded in death by her parents, her husband John, step daughter Teri Blake, sisters Mary Eason, Martha Butler, Esther Grant and Ruth Munsell, sister in law Patty Benge, brothers in law Louie Quirk, Edward Eldon Quirk, Jim Quirk and Michael Quirk.
Funeral Services will take place at Ellers Mortuary Webster Street Chapel on Thursday March 29th at 10:00am. The family will offer visiting hours Wednesday evening from 3-7pm Officiating the service will be Pastor Brad Swain. Burial will follow at Sharpsville Cemetery.
