Mitch obtained his associates degree in electrical engineering from IUPUI Kokomo and graduated with honors. He had worked at the Chrysler Casting Plant in Kokomo as a machine repairman. He was a member of the UAW 1166 in Kokomo and the National Rifle Association. He had a strong passion for collecting and shooting guns and also for fireworks. He was also an avid pet lover.
Mitch is survived by his two sons, Joseph Michael (Sally) Sexton, and Alex Mitchell Copeland; and a daughter, Emily Grace Copeland. He is also survived by a sister, Traci Copeland, a granddaughter, Zoey Sexton, and his feline companion, Timmy.
Mitch was preceded in death by his father.
A visitation for Mitch will be held on Monday, March 27, at Sunset Memory Garden Funeral Home in Kokomo from 11-1. There will be a funeral service immediately following the visitation, and then Mitch will be laid to rest at Sunset Memory Garden Cemetery.
