

Jean Bozard, 85, passed away on January 25, 2017 at St. Joseph/St. Vincent Hospital Kokomo surrounded by her family. She was born on June 5, 1931 in Kokomo to Chester and Maude (Hammer) Bone. She married Thomas Bozard on June 5, 1946 and he preceded her in death on November 18, 2009.
She enjoyed the role of homemaker and lovingly cared for not only her children, but grandchildren, great-grandchildren and countless others. She loved country music and for several years was a donor to the We Care Auction of her handcrafted afghans and stitched pieces. She was never too busy to stop and have a cup of coffee and visit with family or friends who dropped in. You could always count on filling every parking spot within walking distance of her home for every holiday, as the house would be full to bursting with love.
She is survived by her daughters Rebecca (Leonard) Lastovica, Yvette (David) Longfellow, and Virginia (Dan) Collette; her son, Danny J. Bozard; daughter-in-law, Jeanne Helvie and grandchildren Richard (Marie) Bozard, Bellbrook Ohio, Mark (Melanie) Bozard, Russiaville, Malissa (Todd) Lowe, Galveston, Malinda (Jim) Webster, Amanda Lastovica, Brittiny (Kevin) Weaver, Logan Lawson, Stewart (Carolyn) Longfellow, Eric Bozard and Evan Bozard all of Kokomo, and Donita Johnson of Galveston. Her great-grandchildren are AFC Thomas Bozard, serving the Air Force at Aviano Italy, Jeanne Marie Bozard, Bellbrook OH, Payton Bozard, Russiaville, Morgan Lowe, Kokomo, Nolan Lowe, Galveston, Jamy Wisher, James Webster and Allyson Longfellow, all of Kokomo. She is also survived by two sisters, Jackie Hood and Joyce Wilgus; and brother, Robert (Janice) Hammer, and numerous nieces and nephews; and her constant companions, cats Smokie and Skipper.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, son, Glen (Butch) Bozard, sister, Marge Evans, and grandchildren, Casey and Melanie Longfellow. The family would like to extend their gratitude during this time to Dr. Karam Abassi, Dr. Diane Pfeifer and Dr. Melanie Bozard, the staff of St. Joseph/St. Vincent Hospital and the staff at Waterford Place.
Services will be held at Sunset Memory Garden Funeral Home on Sunday, January 29th at 4:00 pm. A public visitation will be held from 12:00 pm until the time of the service at the funeral home.
Entombment will follow in Sunset Memory Garden Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to WWKI We Care fund, American Cancer Society or the charity of choice.
