Beatrice grew up in Mississippi and on June 20, 1942 married her husband, Waid Hornbuckle. Together they had six children and eventually moved to Indiana. Beatrice was a member of the Center Road Church of Christ and in her spare time she enjoyed embroidering and crochet. Beatrice was always a caregiver. When her children were young, she stayed home to raise them, and after they grew up she went on to earn her GED and care for elderly. She continued to babysit grandchildren and great grandchildren until she was 87. Beatrice was loved by many and will be greatly missed.
Beatrice is survived by sisters, Barbara Brewer and Margaret Holcomb; children, Waid (Betty) Hornbuckle, Jenette Young, Patsy Butcher, Michael (Kim) Hornbuckle, and Lisa Ford; grandchildren, Wayne, Shane, Angie (Jeff), Bobby (LeWanda), Brian, Michael, Amanda, Monica (Jonny), Marcelo (Brandi), Nathan, Jason (Shana) and Jeb (Robin); great grandchildren, Leah, Jennifer, Dustin, Devin (Madison), Keagan, Kylee, Kiara, Amani, Roman, Jonathan, Jayden, Kayden, Abrianna, Kevin, Damian, Joshua, Kayla, Blake, Matthew, Madilyn and Myles; great-great grandchildren, Braxton, Arlo and Dinky; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Beatrice is preceded in death by sisters, Betty Winters and Doris Youngblood; daughter Mildred Nava; and grandchildren Tina, Daniel and Eddie.
Pallbearers will be: Wayne Hornbuckle, Shane Hornbuckle, Michael Hornbuckle, Bobby Young, Jason Ford, Jeb Ford, Marcelo Nava and Nathan Nava.
Family will receive friends Wednesday, November 14 from 4-8pm at Sunset Memory Garden Funeral Home, 2097 W. Alto Road, Kokomo, IN 46902. Funeral service is Thursday, November 15, at 1:30pm, also at Sunset Memory Garden.
