Mac married Sharon Myers April 9, 1955 and together they raised two sons: Allen and Bradley. Mac worked as a custodian for Chrysler for over 30 years, developing many friendships during his career. He was an avid follower of NASCAR, and decorated his "Man Cave" in tons of memorabilia. He also developed a collection of the car books you find at grocery stores. He enjoyed spending time outdoors whether it was fishing, hunting, or riding around his neighborhood on his tricycle. He and Sharon were snowbirds and spent their winters in Florida. They went on numerous cruises throughout the years, and visited Hawaii. He had a very close relationship with his sons and longed for their visits when they moved out of state. Mac was a previous member of Calvary Baptist, serving as their Trustee and custodian. He also sang in the choir and participated in many plays directed by Jerry Hoffman at church and IU. He was currently a member of Fairview Baptist Church. He had a huge heart for all animals, especially his cats.
Mac is survived by his wife of 70 years, Sharon McIntire; his sons Allen McIntire (Jody) and Bradley McIntire (Phoebe); his grandchildren Alison McIntire, Sean McIntire and his great grandson Connor McIntire. He also leaves behind his best friend Ernie Rakestraw.
In addition to his parents Mac was preceded in death by his grandson Chad McIntire.
A visitation for Mac will be held Monday, May 5, 2025 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Sunset Memory Garden Funeral Home & Cemetery, 2097 West Alto Road, Kokomo, Indiana 46902, followed by a funeral service at 1:00 PM officiated by Pastor Steve Sherwood.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Mac's memory may be made to Fairview Baptist Church, 2108 E Vaile Ave, Kokomo, Indiana 46901.
