Patti Jo Elliott

Patti Jo (Sparks) Elliott, aged 73, of Kokomo, Indiana passed away peacefully at home July 18, 2026, surrounded by her loving family after a courageous battle with Cancer and Parkinson’s Disease. Patti was born in Kokomo, IN at St. Joseph Hospital to the late Robert & Gracia Sparks, Sr. She married Erik Elliott on August 17th, 1974 at First Baptist Church in Kokomo, IN, and they shared 51 beautiful years of marriage and good times.

Patti attended Indiana University, while working part-time at Kroger. She graduated with a Masters in Education, opening the door for her career with Northwestern School Corporation in Kokomo, IN. Patti passionately taught Kindergarten, Second Grade and Fourth Grade. Even for such different kinds of children, she met all of them where they were. She was a life-long reader of historical fiction and Christian fiction novels. She enjoyed her music - the likes of The Beatles, Pop, Country and music of faith. She was a faithful and devoted member of First Baptist Church in Kokomo, IN, where she enjoyed the fellowship of good friends. She will especially be known for her love of Christmas Candy-Making, turning her kitchen into a candy operation every December. From this operation would come Peanut Brittle and Buckeyes - a high-value currency in the Elliott Household.

Left to cherish Patti’s memory are her husband, Erik Elliott; children Christopher (Amy) Elliott, Erika (Nathan) Gregg, and Kevan (Jucianne) Elliott; grandchildren Ethan Gregg, Keira Elliott, Lila Gregg and Owen Gregg; sister Vicky (Steve) Martin; and nephew Troy (Cristal) Sparks.

Patti was preceded in death by her parents, Robert Spark, Sr. & Gracia Sparks; sister Karen Sparks; brother Robert “Bobby” Sparks, Jr.; and niece Jessica Sparks.

Visitation will take place from 11:00 AM - 12:00 PM on Wednesday, July 29, 2026 at Ellers Mortuary & Cremation Center, 3400 S. Webster Street Kokomo, Indiana 46902. Funeral services will begin at 12:00 PM. Please come dressed casual as appropriate for Summer - Suits are not necessary. A Private Family Burial will follow.
