Paul Wilbur Schafer, 86, passed away on Friday, July 14, 2017. He was born to Rudolph and Mabel Schafer on October 22, 1930 in Kokomo. He married his wife of 67 years, Patricia Schafer, and she precedes him in death. Paul served our country in the United States Marines, then went on to retire from Chrysler in 1994 after 30 years. He enjoyed working in the yard and remodeling his homes over the years. He loved his family and his wife. Paul believed in the Lord.
Paul is survived by his daughter, Penny (Clint Blanton) Wilhoite; 4 grandchildren Chris (Jaime) Wilhoite, Jessica (Richard) Wilhoite Slaven, Adam Wilhoite, and Cody Cunningham; great-grandchildren Logan and Grant Wilhoite; and many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Schafer; daughter Peggy Cunningham; his parents Rudolph and Mabel Schafer; 2 brothers; and 3 sisters.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Friday, July 21 at Ellers Mortuary Webster Street Chapel. A memorial service will follow at 6:00 p.m.
