Penelope "Penny" Sue Hayes

Penelope "Penny" Sue Hayes, 75, of Kokomo, IN went to be with her Lord and Savior on February 3, 2025. She was born on November 23, 1949 in Kokomo, IN the daughter of Robert and Mildred Stack (Weir). On January 6, 1967 she married William R. Hayes, Jr. who preceded her in death on October 15, 2013.

Penny taught preschool at Emanuel Lutheran Church and retired after 20 years. She loved teaching and being with all of her students each day. Penny had a very strong faith and loved her church family at Emanuel Lutheran Church. Penny loved animals and pets that would visit her from Love on a Leash. She collected owls, enjoyed bowling and playing euchre with family and friends. She was a loving mother and grandmother who never met a stranger and enjoyed helping others.

Surviving relatives include her daughter, Jennifer Stacy (Jeff Gibson); son, Sean Hayes (Jane); grandchildren, Cody and Matthew Stacy; Hannah Hayes; great grandson, Brayden Lawson all of Kokomo, IN; several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister Barbara McCartney and grandchildren Abigail Hayes and Brandi Lawson Paul.

Visitation will be 12:00 PM - 2:00 PM Saturday, February 8, 2025 at Sunset Memory Garden Funeral Home. Funeral services 2:00 PM Saturday, February 8, 2025 at Sunset Memory Garden Funeral Home 2097 West Alto Road, Kokomo, Indiana 46902. Burial will follow at Sunset Memory Garden Cemetery.
