

Phillip Lee Chism, of Russiaville, Indiana passed away on November 30, 2025. He was born on February 1, 1936 in Greentown, Indiana to Woodrow and Maxine Chism. He married Sandra Hankins on February 9, 1957 and she survives.
He was a member of the Army National Guard from 1957 - 1963. He was also a member of Murat Shriners, Scottish Rite Valley of Indianapolis and New London Masonic Lodge #283.
Phil and his wife enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting, NASCAR racing, and snowmobiling. He was a member of the Central Indiana Snowmobile Club, ISA, MSA and Chippewa Sno-Kats.
He retired from General Motors in 1995. He had also worked at Gerber Sanitary Pottery. He was a member of UAW #292 and was a 1954 graduate of Kokomo High School.
He loved his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Phil is survived by his wife, Sandra; son, David (Billie) of Russiaville; daughter, Kimberly (Danny) Wright of Kokomo; grandchildren, Kara (Eriq) Queen of Marion, Lindsy (Zach) Roark of Panama City Beach, Sophia (Logan) Mason of Kokomo, Daniel Wright of Kokomo; great-grandchildren, Mason, Curtis, Kelsey, Brady, Caitleigh, Brighton, Waylon; great-great-grandchildren, Kayden, Vivian, Esmè; step-grandchildren, Jessica, Emily, Brett; step-great-grandchildren, Cayden, Braxton, Noah, Rylie, David, Drake, Lydia, Ambrose.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Curt; great-grandson, Archer; siblings, Phyllis, Mary, Linda, Jerry, Ira; and beloved dog, Bear.
Visitation will take place at Ellers Mortuary and Cremation Center, 3400 S. Webster Street, Kokomo, on Friday, December 5, 2025 from 11:00 am until the start of funeral services at 1:00 pm. Burial will follow at Sunset Memory Garden Cemetery.
