After high school, Jewell moved to Kokomo, working at The Steel Mill before spending 30 years at Chrysler. He retired in 1991 from Department 91 as a UAW 685 member. Jewell had a lot of hobbies, including collecting guns and playing numbers. He loved cars and spent hours restoring classic muscle cars, watching racing, and going on road trips. Jewell also enjoyed telling stories and watching “them shoot ‘em up, bang, bang” movies and cartoon movies. More than anything, he loved his grandkids and all of his “adopted” family.
Jewell is survived by his son Jewell (Tabitha) Majors of Indiana; daughter Lanelle Majors of Arizona; son Patrick (and Paula) Majors of California; son Jeremy (Brandi) Harris of Indiana; daughter Nikita Majors of Indiana; son Matthew (Raquel) Harris of Arizona; and son Darren (Kareem) Harris of St. Louis. He also leaves behind his significant other Debra Randolph and one sister Marva.
Jewell was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Mildred, Bernice, and Josephine, and brothers Elex and James.
