Richard L. Nutt

Richard L. Nutt (Rick), 76, Kokomo, passed away at 9:50 am on Monday, January 17, 2022 at AdventHealth Waterman Hospital in Tavares, FL. He was born December 6, 1945 at St. Joseph Hospital in Kokomo, Indiana. He was the son of the late Forrest Clyde Nutt and Anna Gladys Maxine Nutt. On, August 8, 1968, in Kokomo, he married Mary Jo (Dunn) Nutt and they raised 3 loving children. Rick graduated from Kokomo High School on June 1, 1965. Rick worked as a Police Officer in Kokomo IN for 28 years, retiring in 2004. After retirement Rick enjoyed splitting time between Florida and Kokomo. Rick was born a racecar driver and never stopped racing. He loved spending time with his family, golfing, fishing with his dog (Bryzzo), driving around the country, and if you walked into his house you’d probably find the Chicago Cubs on TV. He never met a stranger and was always quick to lighten the mood with a joke. Along with his wife Mary Jo, Rick is also survived by his children Frank (Karla) Nutt, Jenny (Nutt) Smith, and Rick (Shelly) Nutt; grandchildren, Natalie Nutt, Abby Nutt, Izzy Smith, Addie Smith, Olivia Smith, Elisa Nutt, and Noah Nutt; siblings Donna (Roger) Shrock and Ronald (Mary Lou) Nutt; nieces/nephews Greg (Cindy) Baker, Rob (Debbie) Baker, Jeff (Tina) Shrock, Lisa Nutt, Jon Nutt; along with several grand-nieces and grand-nephews. Visitation with the family will be from 4-7 pm Thursday, January 27, 2022 and Memorial service will be Friday, January 28, 2022 at 6 PM at Eller’s Mortuary, 725 S Main St, Kokomo, IN 46901.
