Rickey (Rick) Eugene Caine was born on April 12, 1957 to Eugene L. Caine and JoAnn E. Miller in Kokomo, Indiana. Rick leaves a legacy of perseverance. Despite any physical challenge his body endured due to polio, he would find a way to overcome. He was a lover of nature, and greatly enjoyed hunting and fishing with his brothers. He loved music and taking his daughter to concerts. His greatest joy in life was his family. He often reminisced on time spent around the kitchen table with his family, tea with his mom, holiday dinners, poker nights, and any reason to be together. He loved being a grandpa and his grandson was his best buddy. He was an avid Kokomo Wildkat fan and loved watching his grandson play football and run track.
He is survived by his daughter, Elizabeth (Mike) Degraffenreid; his grandson, Lukas Degraffenreid; his brothers, Timothy Caine and Scott (TawanaMarie) Miller; his sisters, Kathy Townsend and Lisa (Randy) Bagby; 15 nieces & nephews and many great nieces & nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents; his stepfather, James L. Miller; his brothers, Jeffery Caine and Toby Miller; his niece, Amber Caine; his sister-in-law, April Miller; and his brother-in-law, Bryon Townsend.
A memorial service will be held at Brookside Free Methodist church on Saturday January 20, 2024, from 2-4pm. His daughter, son-in-law, and grandson will accompany him to his final resting place, where his ashes will return to nature.
