Robert William Barnett II

Robert was born in Tucson, Arizona and years later, residing in Peru, Indiana. Robert was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and son. Robert had a wonderful personality, the biggest smile and a great sense of humor. He could put a smile on your face in a minute and he made a lasting impression on his doctors, nurses, and everyone who entered his life. When Robert was seven years old, he was hospitalized and diagnosed with diabetes. The nurses showed Robert how to use a syringe injecting into an orange. When the pediatrician came into Robert's room to give him his insulin injection, Robert told him it was his responsibility and he was going to be doing it the rest of his life. Robert attended St. Joan of Arc Elementary School and was an altar boy.

Robert pursued education with a passion, attending Ivy Tech Kokomo and receiving an Associates Degree. He liked playing cards, video games and board games with his family. Robert wasa chef and he loved to cook. He liked to do woodworking, replenishing furniture and working on his pickup truck.

Robert will be sadly missed by his wife, Cheryl Harris; stepson, Patrick Harris; daughter, Samantha Kolb (Justin)l, granddaughter, Zinna Kolb, and Jerrod Barnett; parents, Catherine and George Pliska; sisters, Tina Mlodzik (Gary), Tisha Przybylski (Tommy); brother, Michael-Paul Barnett (Angie); brother-in-law, Scott McMahon; aunts and uncles, Mark and Georgia Pliska, Carol and Larry Pliska, Walter Wellinger, James Barnett, Don Barnett, Larry Barnett (Evelyn), and Mike Barnett; nieces and nephews, Paul Barnett, Tylanea Williams (Jerome), Kayla Mlodzik, Kody Mlodzik, Shawn- Michael Barnett, Tyler Barnett, Vanessa Valencia, and Christopher Williams; cousins, Cindy Pliska, Mark Pliska II, Weston Pliska, Adam Pliska, Patty Wellinger, and Linda Guerrero, Bob Barnett (Annette); half sister, Contessa Barber; step sisters, Lisa Carpenter and Tammy Keller; and friends, Jim Webb, Rob Green, Stephanie Green, and Natalie Green.

Robert is reunited in heaven with sisters, Theresa Marie Barnett; niece, Shelby Marie Barnett; mother of his children, Shawna McMahon Barnett and Beth Hahn Barnett; mother-in-law, Janet McMahon; grandparents, Helen and Stanley Pliska, Romeo J. Poland, Betty Millette; great-grandmother, Belle Bentley; aunts and uncles, Johnny and Donna Pliska, Adam and Barbara Pliska, Richard Pliska, Michael Pliska, Aunt Michael Wellinger, and Joe Barnett; and cousins, Trina Pliska, Lorraine Wellinger, and Bobbi Richter.

A memorial service will be at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made in Robert's memory to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
