He is survived by: his wife, Delores “Jeannie” (Sherrod) Kalata, whom he married on April 22, 1977; four sons, Michael, Noel Jay, Russell “Rusty”, Jr., and Wesley; one brother, Norman; one sister, Ruth Denisienko; and 4 grandchildren.
He was preceded, in death, by his parents and one daughter, Danette.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and worked for the Chicago Railroad, Kingston Products until their closing in 1989, and worked full-time at Cannon Valley Woodworks where he finally retired in 1992. He enjoyed fishing and animals. He was a member of the Eagles and the VFW.
A memorial visitation will be held on Friday, July 11th, 2014 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Sunset Memory Garden Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, envelopes will be provided at the memorial to assist the family with final expenses. Messages of condolence may be expressed online at www.sunsetmemorygarden.com.
