Sharon Kay Bagwell, a beacon of warmth and kindness, passed away on December 22, 2025, at the age of 78. Born on January 14, 1947, Sharon's life was a testament to a selfless spirit and a kind-hearted soul.
Residing in Kokomo, Indiana, Sharon was loved by family and friends alike. Her legacy is carried on by her daughters, Leigh Ann Melby (Robert W. Jr.) and Paige Hoover (Jeff), and cherished through her precious grandchildren, Lindsay Sebesky, James Sloan, Nicolas Hoover, and Madison Hoover, along with her many great-grandchildren. She is fondly remembered by her surviving brothers, Larry Baker, Michael Baker (Cathy), and Randall Baker (Donna).
Sharon is now reunited with her beloved husband, Robert Bagwell Jr., her parents, Charles Leroy Baker and Vivian Faye (Willis) Baker, as well as her siblings Wanda Baker, Maudie Baker Faucett, Marilyn McKinney, and Seth Leroy Baker, and niece Belinda Arredondo.
A woman who brought light into every room, she was known for her love as a grandma and great-grandma. Going to church with her brother was a cherished pastime, reflecting her deep-rooted connection with her faith as she attended Hillside Missionary Baptist. Sharon's home was a sanctuary filled with the sounds of 70's and 80's music, the soft hum of crochet hooks, and the clattering of puzzle pieces. Her love for genealogy and sewing was evident in the stories woven through her family's history and the garments crafted by her skilled hands. Her affection for dogs added warmth and joy to her household.
A graveside service will be scheduled at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to Riley Children’s Health, an organization Sharon held dear to her heart.
