She was born in Portland, IN on February 7th, 1940, to Benjamin and Florence (Harris) Florence. Throughout her young life, she and her mother moved around between Portland, Logansport, and Kokomo. As a child, she loved to ride her horse that was a gift from her father. As a teenager she made many lifelong friends and had such an adventurous spirit. Sharron’s mother adopted Pamela (Harris) Brown when Sharron was a teenager. Although Sharron was an only child until then, she loved Pam very much and loved having a sister.
Sharron met her husband, Lonnie, on a blind date in 1959 while he was serving in the Army stationed in Logansport. They were married on February 20th, 1960. Sharron and Lonnie eventually settled in Kokomo and were inseparable for 62 years.
They were blessed with five children; Lonnie (Joy) Teague, Mike (Debbie) Teague, Troy (Rebekah) Teague, Chris Teague and girlfriend Kathy Davenport, and daughter Sacha Teague and fiancé Tony Johnson.
They have 12 grandchildren; Jeramie (Grace) Teague, Michael Nicholas (Nicole) Teague, Kyle Teague and girlfriend Anna, Keri (Matt) Roesch, Josiah Teague, Ariel Teague, Shae-Lyn Teague and fiancé Justin, Alana Teague, Bailey Davenport, Trace Davenport, Megan Henry, and Keaton Jones.
They have 5 great-grandchildren; James Teague, Ana Teague, Chelcee Ward, Sebastian Gilbert, and Emersyn Henry.
In her adult life, she loved to go to the movies, antique shopping, and playing euchre. She wasn’t one for sitting around at home. She traveled often either visiting her children in other states or seeing the world with friends and other family members. Some of her favorite trips were to Hawaii, England, Italy, and taking cruises to the Bahamas and Mexico with her family. Sharron retired from GM in 1997 after almost 30 years of service.
Sharron was preceded in death by her parents, her sister, and her oldest grandbaby, Ariel.
A visitation for Sharron will be held Saturday, December 3, 2022 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Sunset Memory Garden Funeral Home, 2097 West Alto Road, Kokomo, Indiana 46902, followed by a funeral service at 1:00 PM.
