Stacey Anne Newton, a lifelong resident of Kokomo and a woman of fierce loyalty, passed away on March 13, 2026, after a courageous battle with cancer. She fought her illness with the same tenacity she brought to every part of her life - fighting to her very last breath.
Born in Kokomo on July 17, 1971, to Deborah F. Tyler and the late Robert Eugene Tyler Jr., Stacey was known as a "force to reckon with." On October 31, 1997, she married the love of her life, Robert "Robbie" Newton. Their life together was defined by the "love hard" philosophy that Stacey lived by everyday.
Stacey dedicated her life to advocating for and mentoring others. Professionally, she served with deep compassion at CASA and Indiana Mentors, and she extended that spirit of leadership to her community as the leader of Girl Scout Troop 3033. Her work and volunteerism were true reflections of her empathy and her unwavering commitment to supporting those around her.
Outside of her work, Stacey was a creative soul who found joy in the arts, crafts, and quiet beauty of the night sky. She was a passionate traveler and a devoted "furbaby" mom who cherish her animals. Whether she was listening to music or looking at the stars, Stacey lived with a spirited independence, always marching to the beat of her own drum.
Stacey was preceded in death by her father, Robert Eugene Tyler Jr.; her grandparents, Ruth and Robert Eugene Tyler; her aunts, Marcia Wills and Sandra Tyler; and her uncles, Steve McCombs and Rick Abresch.
Her legacy of strength is carried on by her husband, Robbie; her mother, Deborah; and her two sisters, Misty Leigh Tyler and Lea Ann Tyler. She also leaves behind her "favorite one and only" niece, Paiton Canard; her honorary brother, Andrew Tyler; and a community of friends, scouts, and colleagues who will forever miss her vibrant presence.
Stacey will be remembered as a woman who stood her ground, loved without reservation, and kept her eyes on the stars until the very end.
A visitation for Stacey will be Saturday, March 28, 2026, from 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm at Ellers Mortuary, 725 S. Main St. Kokomo, IN 46901. A funeral service will follow at 2:00 pm. Burial will take place at Twin Springs Cemetery.
