

Thelma Mae Courtney, 89, Kokomo, passed away at home on Sunday, December 10, 2017. Thelma was born March 27, 1928, to Jesse Graham and Nettie Watt Graham. She married her husband Charles J, Courtney December 27, 1947. He preceded her in death in September 1998.
Thelma retired from Delco Electronics in 1983 serving over 30 years. She was a member of their Delco Electronics Good Timers travel club for many years. Thelma loved to travel everywhere around the world; including Europe, the states and Hawaii. Thelma was a long time member of the Kokomo VFW. She enjoyed playing euchre with friends and at family gatherings and she enjoyed Polka dancing with her sisters. Thelma enjoyed spending time with her family and loved being GiGi to her grandkids.
She is survived by her son; Michael D. Courtney (Melanie), daughter; Janet Arvin (Rick), daughter-in-law; Kathy Courtney, sister-in-law; Lettie Spies, grandchildren; Darrick Arvin (Hilary), Michelle Gilbert (Ryan), Laura Courtney (fiancé Tim Reiger), Jamie, Brooke and Holly Turner, great-grandchildren; Emma, Charlie, John, Melissa, Collin, Kristin, Leighann, Jaden, Kamiryn, Madison and Bentley and many nieces and nephews.
Thelma is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Charles, a son Charles Jay Courtney, three brothers, three sisters, and a grandson; Aaron Courtney.
Funeral Services will take place Thursday December 14, 2017 at 1:30pm at Ellers Mortuary Webster Chapel. The family will offer visitation prior from 11:30am to 1:30pm Burial will follow at Sunset Memory Garden Cemetery.
