

Thelma Lena (Spall) Wooldridge passed away at 12:30 a.m. Sunday, December 5, 2010, at Waterford Nursing Home in Kokomo. She was born October 20, 1912 in Jasper County at a farm home near Remington, Indiana. She was the only child of Robert E. “Birt” and Belva “Blanche” (Hoard) Spall. She married Earl L. Wooldridge March 29, 1934, in Peru, Indiana, and had lived in the Kokomo area since that time. Her husband preceded her in death January 11, 1968.
She graduated from Rensselaer High School in 1930 and from Indiana Business College in Lafayette, Indiana, class of 1931. Her employment included Reliance Sewing Factory, Crosley Radio, and Delco Division of General Motors, from where she retired in 1974 after 22 years of service. She was a member of Fairfield Christian Church, Daughters of Union Veterans of the Civil War, American Business Women Association, UAW, and was one of the few remaining members of the 1935 Crosley Radio Club. She also served as a volunteer for the Del-Ray Club and Howard Community Hospital. She enjoyed reading, traveling, she had traveled to all 50 states and several European countries, and card games. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family, and she leaves the many happy memories.
Survivors are a son, Donald Lee Wooldridge and wife Marilyn, Russiaville; a daughter, Peggy Jean Pormen and husband John of Greeley, Colorado; grandchildren, Sheryl Nierzwick and husband Larry, Tipton, Indiana, Scott Wooldridge and wife Jill Norman Wooldridge, Minneapolis, Minnesota, Brian Wooldridge and wife Julie Straszewski-Wooldridge, Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, Mark Pormen and wife Vickie, Easton, Colorado, and Tracy Dee Baldo Senstock and husband Patrick Senstock, Greeley, Colorado; great-grandchildren, Lori Nierzwick and Joseph Nierzwick, Tipton, Reid and Devin Wooldridge, Minneapolis, Minnesota, Carter Wooldridge, Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, and Dora and Maya Baldo, Greeley, Colorado; and another great-grandchild expected late December 2010 in Wauwatosa, Wisconsin.
The funeral service will be held at noon Thursday at Sunset Memory Garden Funeral Home, 2097 W. Alto Rd., Kokomo with Rev. Keith Cramer of Fairfield Christian Church officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memory Garden Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of service on Thursday at the funeral home.
