Known to his friends as Tommy or Bomber, he attended Western High School where he excelled in football, basketball, and baseball, and graduated in 1967. He began his family shortly after graduating, and also started working at the Chrysler Transmission plant in Kokomo until his retirement. His family spent countless hours traveling to watch him quarterback the Kokomo Chiefs football team and play second base for Punchy’s men’s fastpitch softball team. Still wanting to be active after his playing years, he tested his patience as an assistant coach for the Chiefs, and later as a softball coach for his daughters’ teams. Through the years he kept himself busy with the UAW, bowling leagues, fishing, and hunting. He truly loved chasing the sun on his Harley, walking the woods with his faithful dog Bosco, wetting a line on the lake, knocking down pins at the bowling alley, and creating culinary masterpieces for his family and friends.
After retiring from the Chrysler transmission plant in Kokomo, he moved to Winter Haven, Fl where he was fortunate to spend quality time with his mom, relax on his boat, hang out around bonfires with his friends, and forever seek out the biggest, best plate of food he could find.
Tom is preceded in death by his parents, Tom and Jean Faulkner; his second wife Jeannine; and several special family members.
He is survived by his new wife, Debra Jones; daughters, Kim (Mike) Mayer and Karen (Nate) Sanburn; grandkids, Logan (Catherine) Sanburn, Chandler (Katelyn) Sanburn, Mackenzie Sanburn, Zachary (Michelle) Collier, Ty Mayer; great granddaughters, Aspen Sanburn and Haven Sanburn and a great grandson due in November; brother, Jim (Colleen) Faulkner; niece Shelby Faulkner and nephew Sam (Chloe) Faulkner.
A visitation for Tom will be held Friday, July 31 from 10am to 1pm at Sunset Memory Garden Funeral Home, 2097 West Alto Rd, Kokomo, IN 46902. We look forward to hearing your best fishing, hunting, sports, or overall mischief story. His family would love you to tag him on his Facebook page enjoying a gluttonous meal at your favorite restaurant and saying cheers to Bomber. In lieu of flowers, contributions to the Indiana Wildlife Federation would be cherished.
