On April 11, 1954, Tom married Gail Cunningham, beginning a marriage rooted in commitment and adventure. In his early years, he was a Boy Scout. He attended IUK and Arizona State University, and then went on to graduate from IU of Bloomington in 1960 with a degree in Accounting.
Tom served in the U.S. Army in Germany, answering the call to serve with quiet resolve. He later built a professional life as an accountant for Stellite while living in Manchester, England, embracing new places and experiences with the same willingness that shaped so much of his life. He enjoyed traveling, always willing to set out and see more of the world.
For several years, Tom's family hosted Thanksgiving Day Reunions at the Armory, creating a familiar gathering place for connection and remembrance.
He remained deeply connected to Logansport through family and community ties. His father owned the Carousel in Logansport, and Tom was heavily involved with its restoration over the years while serving on their Board of Directors. He was also a member of Grace United Methodist Church for over 50 years.
He is survived by his loving wife Gail Jones, as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by all of his siblings: Gerald, Donald, Bobby, Glenn, Richie, Betty, Clara, Shirley, and Janet.
A visitation for Tom will take place Monday, October 26, 2026, from 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM at Sunset Memory Garden Funeral Home, 2097 W. Alto Rd. Kokomo, IN 46902, followed by a service at 1:00 PM.
