Tommy Dale Darlin, age 76, of Kokomo, Indiana passed away on Thursday, December 22, 2022. He was born September 17, 1946 in Kokomo Indiana to Joe and Mildred (King) Darlin. He graduated from Kokomo High School in 1965. He joined the Marine Corp. right out of high school, and was stationed in San Diego, CA. He served honorably in the Vietnam War. He married Linda Melton August 29, 1969 and they went on to have 3 children, Gina, Michelle, and Tony. He retired from Delco Electronics after many years of service. Tom was an active volunteer with Meals on Wheels, serving as a Captain in that organization, and helped deliver meals for years, with his wife Linda. He loved 'riding his cycle' with his brother Larry. He was a big fan of IU basketball and loved reading books. He was loved greatly by his family and will be missed by many.
Tom was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Mildred; his sisters, Francis (Jerry) Fisher and Patricia (Scott) Burton; brothers, Joe "Junior" (Marie) Darlin, Jim (Jean) Darlin, and Donnie Darlin.
Tom is survived by his wife Linda, his daughters Gina (Tony) Smith, and Michelle (Dave) Hawkins, son, Tony (Stephanie) Darlin; grandchildren, Melanie (Jared), Adam (Hannah), Payton (Kendra), Molly (Caleb), Brody, Emily, Hunter, Saige (Evan), Avery, Adysen, Gavin and Camryn and one great-granddaughter on the way; brother, Larry Darlin; sister, Judy (Bob) Crull; sister-in-law, Carol Williams; brothers-in-law, Kenneth Melton and Dale (Debbie) Melton, along with many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Thursday, December 29, from 4pm - 7pm at Sunset Memory Gardens Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be Friday, December 30, at 11am, officiated by Tom's grandson, Pastor Adam Smith, with full military rites prior to entombment. Donations to Meals on Wheels may be made in Tom's honor.
