

Travis H. Hollis, 84, Kokomo, passed away at 4:05 AM, Tuesday, January 2, 2018 at his residence. He was born August 23, 1933 in Lamar County, Vernon, Alabama to the late Ottis and Minnie (Pennington) Hollis. He married Joan “Jody” (Hilery) Hollis on July 8, 1956 in Midway Plant City, FL, and she survives.
Travis retired from National Homes in Lafayette, where he worked as a carpenter, for over 34 years. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and reading western books. Travis was a member of Kokomo Christian Fellowship.
Surviving is his loving wife of 61 years, Jody; daughter, Gail (Rodney) Frye, of Camden; son, David Allen Hollis, of Kokomo; two granddaughters, Mandy Wertz-Hughes and Maggie Sue Wertz; seven great-grandchildren; two sisters, Ruth Wilcoxson and Mary Joyce McKinzie; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, and four sisters.
Funeral services will be at 12:00 PM Tuesday, January 9, 2018 at Ellers Mortuary Webster Street Chapel, 3400 South Webster Street with Pastor Nicky Farmer officiating. Friends may visit with the family from 11:00AM until the time of service on Tuesday, also at the mortuary. Burial will take place at Camden Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made in Travis’s memory to the Kokomo Christian Fellowship.
