It is with profound sadness and deep love that we announce the passing of Trent Bergin, a devoted father, lifelong enthusiast of music and technology, and cherished companion in countless movie adventures.
Trent lived a life full of curiosity, joy, and unwavering pride in his family, especially his son with whom he shared an unbreakable bond. He was the proudest of fathers, always ready with a smile, a joke, or a ticket to the next great film premiere.
Trent had a deep and enduring love for live music and the spirit of exploration it brought. A dedicated fan of the Grateful Dead and Phish, he chased shows across the country whenever he could with his brother and friends.
At home, Trent was just as passionate about cinema. He and his son shared a ritual of movie nights debating plot twists, quoting lines from classics old and new. From epic theater screenings to cozy evenings on the couch with classics, beloved films, or the latest releases those shared hours created memories that will endure forever.
A lifelong tech enthusiast, Trent loved building computers, exploring gadgets, and staying ahead of the digital curve. His home office was a haven of screens, cables, and spare parts, and he was always eager to help others navigate new technology.
Above all, Trent was defined by his love for his son. Their bond thrived on shared passions: movies, late-night discussions about anything and everything. This was the true center of his world. He approached fatherhood with pride, patience, and playfulness, always encouraging curiosity and celebrating every milestone.
Trent is survived by his beloved son Corbyn, who was his greatest joy and adventure partner; his parents Terry & Tracie, brother Terrence (Ashley), nieces Ada & Evelyn Bergin, nephew Theodore Bergin, and a special friend, Rachel Bledsoe.
Preceded in death by his grandparents, Wayne and Louise Thomas. John and Patsy Bergin.
In lieu of flowers a memorial account has been set up in Corbyn Bergin’s name at STAR Bank, 2900 S Washington St., Kokomo, Indiana OR, the family suggests honoring Trent by watching a favorite movie with someone you love, listening to live music, or exploring a new piece of technology with curiosity just as he would have done.
A celebration of life will be held in April at Sunset Memory Gardens. In the words he loved, “What a long, strange trip it’s been” and what a beautiful one it was with him in it.
He will be deeply missed, forever remembered, and always loved.
