Vivian Matilda Mason

Vivian M. Mason, age 85, of Sharpsville, Indiana, passed away on Wednesday, August 28, 2024 at her residence, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on November 2, 1938 in Andersonville, TN to the late Milton and Mary (Melton) Ailor. Vivian married Donald W. Mason on February 2, 1957 and he preceded her in death on June 1, 2014.

Vivian retired from General Motors after 30 years of employment. She was a member of the UAW #292. Vivian was a member of Kingdom Life Christian Ministries and formerly a longtime member of First Church of God. She enjoyed bowling, fishing, going to the beach, sitting on her porch watching the hummingbirds, and attending Sprint Car Racing with her son, Lee. Vivian was very family-oriented and was the matriarch of the family. She loved her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. Vivian really enjoyed watching all her grandchildren at their sporting events.

Vivian is survived by her daughter, Kathy (Gabe) Eagle; daughter-in-law, Julie Mason; four grandchildren, Cynthia (Freddie) Reed, Brenda Simpson, Tiffany (Freddie) Douglas, and Bobby Eagle; eight great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; seven siblings, Richard (Phyllis) Ailor, Sue Wilson, Creola (Mike) Hundley, Beulah Brigance, Marie Ailor, Terri (Ray) Bass and Margie Matthew; and many nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death is her loving husband, Donald W. Mason; two sons, Milton LeRoy Mason and William Daniel Mason; brother, Jerry Ailor; and three brothers-in-law, Larry Wilson, Bob Matthew, and Al Brigance.

There will be a time of visitation for Vivian on Friday, September 6, 2024 from 11:00 AM until the time of service at 1:00 PM, at Ellers Mortuary Webster Chapel, 3400 South Webster Street, Kokomo. Pastor Glenn Waltman will be officiating. Burial will follow to Albright Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made in Vivian's memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, envelopes will be provided at the funeral home.
