

Walter D. Harrington, 80, Kokomo, passed away on Tuesday, February 8, 2011 at Howard Regional Health System. He was born February 26, 1930, in Kokomo, to Willard Harrington and Quinta (Hankins) Eskridge. He married Mary F. Dunn on October 14, 1955, and she survives.
He was a veteran of the Korean War, serving in the United States Army from 1952 to 1960 and later worked as a foreman at Libby-McNeil for 38 years before his retirement in 1981.
He will be sadly missed by his family and friends.
In addition to his wife, Mary F. Harrington, he is survived by one son, Jim (Lori) Harrington; three daughters, Kathy Brown, Linda Sue (Chuck) Shaffer; and Barb (Greg) King; one son-in-law, Robert Brown; eleven grandchildren, Becky VanHaecke, April DeJesus, Miranda Gotshall, Kimmie Thieke, Amber Wasson, Daniel Brown, Chris Shuck, Justin Shuck, Cory Shuck, Steph Conner, and Ben King; and 28 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Hokie Harrington; and two great-grandchildren.
The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday at Sunset Memory Garden Funeral Home with Pastor Kyle Sadler officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memory Garden Cemetery. Visiting hours will be from noon until the time of service on Friday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the National Diabetes Association.
