

Walter Lee Wolford 76, of Kokomo, passed away at 3:31 PM Thursday November 23, 2017 at Community Howard Regional Health, Kokomo. Born September 18, 1941 in Kokomo, he was the son of the late Pearl Wolford Slavey. He was a veteran, serving in the United States Army. On April 27, 1996, he married Mary “Wilda” Eades, and she survives. He was an electrician and a computer repairman having been employed with Continental Steel, Chrysler Corporation, and then retiring from Delco Electronics in 2001. He was a member of the Howard Lodge #93 F & AM, Scottish Rite, and U.A.W. Local #292. He enjoyed genealogy, traveling and visiting over 150 lighthouses, car shows, and was a tech advisor to everyone. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and was very patriotic.
Survivors include his wife of over 21 years, Mary “Wilda” Wolford of Kokomo; his children Erik Wolford of Taiwan, Mike (Debra) Weideman of Lafayette, Jeff (Jenni) Weideman of Sharpsville, Beth Carroll of Belleville, Illinois, Susan (Artie) McDonald of Kokomo; two brothers Joe Wolford of Kokomo and Jerry (Cindy) Slavey of Florida; four sisters Mary Ann (Don) Adams of Kokomo, Pat (Mark) Spaulding of Carmel, Carolyn (Randy) McKay of Kokomo, and Debbie Landrum of Russiaville. There are also nine grandchildren, Kyle Carroll, Holly, Kailey, and Riley McDonald, Claire, Audra, Wade, Nick Weideman, and Shelby Larson.
He was preceded in death by his mother, also two brothers John Slavey and Jeff Slavey.
Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Monday November 27, 2017 at Ellers Mortuary Webster Street Chapel, 3400 South Webster Street, Kokomo. Mark Spaulding will officiate. Burial with military rites by the U.S. Army and the Kokomo Military Rites Team will follow at Albright Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4-8 PM Sunday; also from 9-10 AM Monday at the mortuary. Memorials may be directed to the charity of the donor’s choice.
