William Alfred Browning Sr.
December 28, 1940 – January 31, 2023

William "Bill" Alfred Browning, Sr., age 82, of Kokomo, Indiana passed away on Tuesday, January 31 at 3:51pm. Bill was born December 28, 1940 to William E. and Doris M. (Shepherd) Browning. Bill met and married the love of his life, Carolyn on August 5, 1960. He retired as a heavy equipment operator from County Line Gravel in the early 90's. He coached baseball at Eastside Ballpark and ran the Samaritan Love Center food pantry. He attended the Woodland Church of God. He liked to collect knives and clocks. Bill was great for telling jokes. He loved woodworking, painting, fishing, bowling, cooking and spending time with his family.
Bill is survived by his children; Kathy DeWitt (Mark), William Browning Jr. (Cheryl), Sandy Walker (Scott), and Jeffery Browning (Valerie); his brothers,Tom Browning, Ronnie Browning (Nanette), Terry Browning (Evaline); sister, Nancy Beswick (Charles); brothers-in-law Jim, Doc, John and Tim Lowe; along with 11 grandchildren and 36 great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his wife, parents, in-laws, 2 sisters, 1 sister in-law, 2 nephews, and a great-grandson.
The family would like to thank Guardian Angel Hospice for their loving care.
Memorial contributions can be made to the family.
A public visitation for Bill will be held Monday, February 6, 2023 from 11:00am-2:00pm, at Ellers Mortuary, 3400 S. Webster St., Kokomo, with a funeral service at 2:00pm. Pastor Michael Alley will officiate.
Bill will be laid to rest at Kokomo Memorial Park.
