

William "Junior" C. Grant Jr., age 87, of Kokomo, Indiana passed away on Tuesday, May 30, 2023 at Ascension St. Vincent Kokomo. He was born on January 15, 1936 to the late William C. Grant Sr. and Dorothy (Cheesman) Grant in Kokomo, Indiana.
Bill retired from Haynes International as an Electrician, at the age of 55. He was also a professional golfer. He was a long-time member of The American Legion. He served his country as a soldier in the United States Army during Korea and as a professional golfer at Fort Polk, Louisiana as he was detailed to instruct high ranking officers and their wives on the game. He did so in civilian clothing which was approved by his Colonel. He was also a former member of Southside Christian Church. Bill loved being a "Hoosier" and adored Howard County, Indiana. Bill was a true sportsman well into his mid-70s. He maintained a competitive love of Golf, enjoyed his faithful watching of Highland Park Little League to witness the many generations of players pass through the fields, and especially fancied attending country and "Big Band" music productions in Highland Park for many years. One of his most regularly scheduled outings was to his weekly socials with his buddies to McDonald's or Burger King on LaFountain where they were able to reminisce and also solve all of the world's problems together. His generosity was always felt by his family members, and especially by his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Surviving are two children, Bonnie K. Cash and William Todd Grant; granddaughter, Jennifer (Bob) Sylvester; and four great-grandchildren, Levi, Jayden, Caitlin, and Gwenyth.
Preceded in death are four brothers, Wayne, James, Ronald, and David Grant; and grandson, Matthew Cash.
There will be a time of visitation for "Junior" on Friday, June 2, 2023 from 3:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. at Sunset Memory Garden Funeral Home, 2097 West Alto Road, Kokomo, IN. Funeral service will be Saturday, June 3, 2023 at 10:00 A.M. also at the funeral home. Pastor Jeff Russell will be officiating. Burial will follow to Sunset Memory Garden Cemetery. Full military rites will be performed by the United States Army and the VFW Post #1152 Military Rites Team. Memorial contributions may be made in "Junior's" memory to The American Legion.
