

He was a 1949 graduate of Kokomo High School. He was also a veteran of the United States Army, serving in the Korean War. On April 29, 1955, in Kokomo, he married Betty Marlene (Isler), and she survives. Bill was employed with DeLong Auto Parts in the sales department, retiring after 39 years of service. He was a member of the Moose Lodge, American Legion Post 6, AARP, and Howard Lodge 93 F&AM. He was honorable mention in football for All-State. He also received a scholarship to play football at Franklin College. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Betty Marlene Mills, of Kokomo; one son, William P. "Bill" (Lorrie) Mills, of Kokomo; one daughter, Tonja Votaw, of Magnolia, Texas. There are also four grandchildren, Aubrey (Tori) Waddail-Foerste, Davis Chase Graf, Austin (Annie) Mills, Kyle (Bethany) Mills; stepgrandchildren, Stephanie (Matt) Sedam, Christopher (Trish) Robinson, and Steven (Kellen) Robinson; also 11 great-grandchildren.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents, five sisters and four brothers.
Bill's family would also like to give a special thanks to Rita Galloway and Terri Davis of Southern Care Hospice; also Wellbrooke of Kokomo.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 21, 2018, at Calvary Baptist Church, 1967 W. Boulevard, Kokomo. The Reverend Kyle Mills will officiate. Burial with military rites by the U.S. Army and the Kokomo Military Rites Team will follow at Sunset Memory Garden. The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the church.
