

Willma Baker, 92, passed away Thursday evening, Oct. 20, 2016, at Community Howard Regional Health in Kokomo. She was born to Howard and Leottis (Swaney) Scott in Anderson on April 30, 1924. Willma attended Anderson High School and graduated with the class of 1942. She met and married Ivan L. Baker on Dec. 7, 1947, and together they were married over 60 years.
Willma was a member of St. Luke's United Methodist Church for over 50 years, and she also attended Grace Baptist Church. She had been a real estate agent for most of her life, but worked also for the Ben Franklin store in the flower department.
Willma enjoyed playing cards and board games with her fellow residents at Brentwood Greene Apartments. She also enjoyed traveling all over the country. Some of the places she had been include Texas, Michigan, Ohio, North Dakota and New Mexico. There was nothing more important to her than her family, especially those grandbabies she adored and loved.
She is survived by sons, Les (Karen) Baker, Pete (Phylis) Baker and Brad (Mary) Baker; 10 grandchildren, Paul Baker, Kim Baker, Ginger Cardwell, Lisa Schafer, Lauren Weller, LindsayPatterson, Monica Baker, Cassie Mckillip, Luke Baker and Levi Baker; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Willma was preceded in death by her parents, husband Ivan, son Loren, and great-grandson Israel Cardwell.
A gathering of friends and family will be 10 a.m. to noon Saturday at Sunset Memory Garden Funeral Home, 2097 W. Alto Road, with a funeral service to be at noon, with Pastors Mitch Norwood and Kerry William officiating. Burial will follow at Maple Wood Cemetery in Anderson.
