Wilma Francis McLay

Wilma Francis McLay, 91, of Kokomo, passed away at 9:25 AM Tuesday, March 13, 2018 at Golden Living Center, Kokomo. Born January 28, 1927 in Tipton County, she was the daughter of the late Harvey “Short” McDaniel and Artie (Anderson) McDaniel. She attended Prairie High School. She married Robert J. Purcifull in 1944 and he preceded her in death. She then married Richard McLay in 1971. She worked at Stellite for 9 years; also worked at Danners, Murphys, and Fashion Bug. She attended Victory Baptist Church and was a former member of the Moose. She loved to fish, especially in Minnesota. Other hobbies include cooking, gardening, music, and spending time with her granddaughters. Survivors include three sons Jamie (Lori) Purcifull, Jeffrey J. Purciful, and Jerry (Pam) Purcifull. There are also four granddaughters Tami, Heather, Audrey, and Macy; also several great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, first husband, two brothers; Warren McDaniel and Mick McDaniel; also two sisters; Mary Lewis and Mildred Grove. Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Friday March 16, 2018 at Ellers Mortuary Webster Street Chapel, 3400 South Webster Street, Kokomo. Pastor Mike Ennis will officiate. Burial will follow in Oakhill Cemetery, Kirklin, Indiana. The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM Friday at the mortuary.
