Adam “Wally” Carvalho passed away peacefully at home in Lihue, on July 30, 2026, at the age of 95. He was born on Aug. 28, 1930, in Hanamaulu. He was a journeyman mechanic at Lihue Sugar Plantation and served in the U.S. Army National Guard.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 69 years, EnCarnacion Carvalho, parents Manuel S. and Alexandrina Carvalho, brothers Ernest and John Carvalho, sisters Alice Freitas, Dorothy Lopes, Mary Napoleon, Violet Koerte and Daisy Mederios.
He is survived by his daughters Charlotte Camara, Joyce (Jerry) Baptista, Colleen (David Sr.) Braun, grandchildren Cheryl (Cipriano Ragocos III) Stoddard, Rhonda Camara, Jason Camara, Maile (Anthony) Lakatsas, Leilani (Nick) Quiroz, Lehua (Manny) Mossa, David Braun Jr., Crystal Braun, Kaylee Braun and 15 great-grandchildren.
Services will be held Saturday, Sept. 19, 2026, at Borthwick Kauai Chapel in Koloa. Visitation begins at 10 a.m. and services at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at Kauai Veterans Cemetery in Hanapepe.
