It's been 2 weeks since the most WONDERFUL Mother, Nana, Wife, Sister, Ohana, Friend, Dog owner, and Employee left us.
Colleen Moana Chock Valdez was the most creative, thoughtful, humble, caring, helpful, hardworking person that anyone could ever meet.
Colleen put her all into EVERYTHING she did, into her entire Ohana, her magnificent arts and crafts projects, party planning and cooking, her 32 year career working at a hotel on the beach in Kapa'a (the name and the uniforms changed a bunch of times, Colleen just went with the flow), and finally to raising her multi talented son, daughter, and grandson.
Hotel guests have even taken time to write on travel web sites about how wonderful Colleen was to them.
If you were lucky enough to have known her, be related to her, or have had her add you to her Ohana, then you were BLESSED!!
We are sending all of our love and prayers to her Entire Ohana-from Kauai, Oahu, Maui to those on the mainland, who now have to find a way to move forward without her daily physical presence.

Colleen's legacy will live on forever thru her Son, her Daughter, and her Grandson.

GOD BLESS YOU my Dear Friend and Sister!!

We promised you years ago that we would keep your memory alive thru sharing stories and would be there for your husband, kids and grandson forever. Little did we know that it would be this soon.

I have a Godson, Goddaughter, Great Godson, 2 dogs, and a Brother, they all live in Kauai. I have a Sister, she just lives somewhere else now. (This was written by my Uncle for everyone that we have lost).

Aloha, until the time comes for you to greet us at heaven's gate--

Mom and Me.
