David “Kea” Kauiokalani Kanealii, 65, passed away on August 30, 2025, in Anahola. He was born on April 20, 1960, in Hawai’i. He was a pyrotechnician at Goodfellow Bros. and a baseball coach at Kapa’a High School.
He was preceded in death by his parents David Kanealii and Pearl Leimomi Kanae Kanealii, brother Mike Poai, and his sisters Edee Poai Bandmann and Mina Medeiros.
He is survived by sons Kiko (Kahea) Kanealii, Owai (Sunni) Kanealii, daughter Waileia (Terrin) Brokaw, brothers Mitchel (Lynn) Alapa, Kenwood (Lei) Alapa, sister Edee Defries, and 8 grandchildren.
Celebration of life will be held on November 8, 2025, at Kapa’a Missionary Church. Friends may visit with the family at 8:30 A.M., service will be from 10:30 A.M. to 11:30 A.M.
