Elaine Yuri Kubota

Elaine Kubota was an anesthesiologist at Wilcox Hospital for 23

years. She passed away on May 30, 2026 at the age of 75

surrounded by her co-workers and friends. She had an unexpected

stroke.

Elaine was born on 7/26/1950 and grew up in Pasadena, California.

She went to Cornell University followed by medical school at the

University of Massachusetts. She did 2 years of surgery training at

Dartmouth before deciding to become an anesthesiologist and she

did her anesthesia training at the University of Washington in Seattle.

She worked as an anesthesiologist in Tacoma, Washington for many

years until she moved to Kauai in 2003. She worked at Wilcox

Hospital right up until she passed.

Elaine is survived by her husband of 44 years, Chris Jordan MD, who

worked as a General Surgeon at Wilcox. She has two sisters, Mary

Ann Kubota and Carol Stein as well as one brother Daniel Kubota.

And 4 cats who will also miss her.
