Barbara Jean Olson

On Jan 21, 2022, Barbara Jean DeBlieck Olson died peacefully at home. She was 82 years old. She was born and raised in Geneseo, Illinois, by Edward and Moneta DeBlieck. She spoke fondly of working and living on the farm with her family and brother Keith. She married Harry Olson on Nov 14, 1969 and they lived in San Diego, California. She was the proud mother of 8 biological and step children. Barbara’s greatest love was her family. She enjoyed long afternoon family-gatherings to include story-telling on her patio, cooking a large meal and drinking wine. She enjoyed sunny days outdoors, bird watching, cats, gardening, rock music, reading, cooking, shopping and fashion. She was a great listener, and was loved by many whom were touched by her fun personality and warm spirit. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother and sons, Scott and John. Barbara is survived by her husband, Harry, her children Daphne Christiance, Therese Reeve, Diedre Christiance, Shawn Christiance, Jesse Olson, Leslie Wetherell as well as her 16 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
