With profound sadness and enduring love, we announce the passing of Cathy Lyn Puckett on June 29, 2026. While our hearts mourn her absence, we find comfort in celebrating a life rich in love, compassion, and unwavering devotion to those she held dear.
Born in La Mesa to Bill and Sally Freeman, Cathy lived a life defined by her dedication to family, treasured friendships, and a genuine desire to care for others. She possessed a gentle spirit, a generous heart, and a quiet strength that touched everyone fortunate enough to know her. Her warmth, kindness, and sincerity left a lasting impression on all who crossed her path.
Cathy was known for creating a warm and welcoming home where everyone felt they belonged. Family gatherings around her table were filled with laughter, love, and the comfort of simply being together. Her home was a place where friends became family, every guest was welcomed with open arms, and every heart departed feeling a little lighter.
More than any title she held, Cathy treasured being a mother. Raising her son, Carl, was the greatest joy of her life and the role she embraced with unconditional love, patience, and unwavering support. She celebrated every milestone, offered steadfast encouragement through every challenge, and took immense pride in the man he became.
Cathy is survived by her beloved partner of 40 years, Ronnie Leon; her son, Carl Puckett II; her grandchildren, Michael Puckett and Amelia Puckett; her brother, Billy Freeman; and her sister, Cindy Krantz. Each was blessed by her love, wisdom, and gentle guidance. She also leaves behind many extended family members and dear friends who will forever carry her memory in their hearts.
Although we grieve her passing, we rejoice in the countless lives she touched and the legacy of love she leaves behind. Her compassion, generosity, and unwavering devotion to her family will continue to inspire all who knew her.
As Scripture reminds us:
"So will it be with the resurrection of the dead. The body that is sown is perishable; it is raised imperishable."
— 1 Corinthians 15:42
Cathy's life was a beautiful testament to love, faith, and selfless devotion. Though she is no longer with us in body, her spirit lives on in the family she cherished, the friendships she nurtured, and the countless memories she created. She will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.
