Erika was married to Robert A. Shields, and together, they built a home in Anderson where they raised cows, planted vegetables, and cared for their dogs and cats. Erika's love for nature and being outdoors was evident in the haven they created.
Her deep passion for the outdoors was a reflection of her nurturing and caring spirit, a trait that extended beyond her love for nature. Erika was exceptionally devoted to helping others, embodying a selflessness that touched the lives of many. Whether it was supporting her family, or lending a helping hand to a friend, Erika's heart overflowed with a desire to make a positive impact.
Erika was married to Tony Bryson, and their union brought two wonderful children into their lives. Even as their paths diverged in life, they remained close friends, a testament to the enduring bond they shared.
Erika's most treasured role in life was that of a devoted mother and grandmother. She leaves behind her two sons, Kevin and Kyle Bryson, who were the light of her life. Her love and support for them were immeasurable, and her legacy will live through them. A memorial service for Erika will be held on Saturday, October 14, 2023, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, at Erickson-Anderson Mortuary in La Mesa. We will also be providing a link to the service to allow her out-of-town friends and family to attend virtually.
