I wish everyone were lucky enough to have someone like you in their life. Someone who is always there for them and always up for an adventure.
I miss our fun times together and your sense of humor most of all.
I hope you're up there having a wonderful time with everyone we are down here missing.
XO

Dad
I think about you all of the time. You were such a wonderful person. You had the best attitude of anyone I know. Always eager to try something new, always happy and a great listener.
And you knew so much! I wish I had paid more attention. If I did I could build a workshop, fix my own car, invest wisely, design and make cool things out of wood and work with stained glass.
You made my world a better place and I miss driving around singing with you.
Your #1 fan.
Diana

Fred was a sweetheart. Polite, neat, generous and very grateful person. He expressed his great love for his family always. He likes to heard or read The Gospels. He was a person of noble feelings, and many things made him cry. Thanks with my time with Fred my love for Classic County Music growth. It was his favorite and he enjoyed listen and singing this every morning. Also, he loved Elvis Presley and The Bee Gees. He enjoyed most kind of food and desserts, and he had a good appetite. His favorite game was checkers. He thought me how to play. When we were playing and he said: “I smell a cooked goose,” it was because no matter what he always won thanks to his good skills in this game! He enjoyed to do things by signals and sounds. Even that he has a positive attitude in life, when he would not like to do something because he was sick and made him a little down, the way to refuse to do something, it was putting his right thumb down and that made me laugh because, I knew that under any circumstance he won’t change his decision. There are to many things to say but, not time. All that I know is that I gave him the best care that I could, a lot of Christian love, and I will keep this shared time with Fred in my heart and mind!

REMEMBERING
Fred William McCormick

I was introduced to the McCormick clan over 25 years ago.
I was so happy to know the wonderful couple and team of Fred and Alice, their beautiful daughters and granddaughters. They had strong family values and always had a way of making you feel special.
Fred really did love his girls! He was a very proud and affectionate father, supporting his daughters, enjoying moments, movies, checkers, vacations, grandchildren, and simple laughter.
He made me laugh with his great spirit and funny jokes.
It was very special getting to know the family. Diana and I were friends and roommates and I became close to the family.
Life is about learning new things and I decided to take a stain glass class at the junior college night school. I went zipping into to class after work and what to my surprise sitting right there was a fellow classmate to greet me, a friendly face with a smile, yes it was Fred. We were school mates for one semester; he made me one of the coolest wood cutting boards for glass. He also had a love of work working that is also shared by my husband Steve. Steve had enjoyed many conversations with Fred about projects and shared many pieces of wood for unique creations.
When thinking of Fred he was an artist and here is a quote that was right on:
“He who works with his hands is a laborer. He who works with his hands and his head is a craftsman. He who works with his hands and his head and his heart is an artist.”
St. Francis of Assissi

We will miss your smile, Love Debbie and Steve Strunk

Growing up 2 houses down I have lots of memories of us kids growing up together, I remember when Diane was born. But I think my favorite memory is 1977. I had to fly home when my brother David got cancer, with a 1 year old baby and no money. I was supposed to call my dad to pick me up at the airport but I couldn’t get hold of him. All my family was out of town and I was starting to panic. For some reason Miss Alice and Mr. Fred’s phone number popped up in my brain. As soon as I heard Mr. Fred’s voice I started to cry, but he calmed me down and after hearing what was going on they drove from Lemon Grove to the airport and took me to El Cajon.
That is the type of loving and caring man that Mr.Fred was. He didn’t care if it was late, he didn’t care that it was changing his plans for the night, he just stopped and helped.
 He is loved.

Fred, Diana and I were on our way back from another adventure down to Cancun, Mexico. We arrived at the airport early for our departure home.
Of course Diana went shopping in the airports awesome shops. Asked Fred if he wanted to join me at the bar. He said no just wanted to hang out at the gate and relax.
So I'm sitting at the bar with my eyes on Fred sitting at the gate. I see an airline rep go up to him and start asking questions. I see that he is giving her his ticket. I immediately paid my tab and went over to ask what was going on. She didn't come off as very nice.
Wanted to know who I was and where was his daughter? I explained our relationship and that was Diana walking towards us back from shopping.
She then asked for all of our tickets, and we really didn't have a choice. She finally comes back and hand's us new new tickets and told us we are good to board now!
Welcome to First Class! First to board and drinking champagne all the way. Good times!!
Miss you Fred, but will always remember the good times.

"You Betcha".... This was one of the many old sayings that Fred would say and it will forever remind me of him. I've known Diana since kindergarten and we would often play in the shed in the back yard. So later on in life when I was told Fred built a workshop in the back yard... silly me... I thought he turned the old shed into his new "little" workshop. As I walked into the back yard I couldn't believe it! It was massive! I received a personal tour and boy was he a happy man. So proud and excited. He was always smiling and happy.
Rest in Heaven Fred.

I enjoyed spending time with Fred over the past few years. His story telling was my favorite part. We would look at photos and he would tell me about how he picked up the grandkids from school, his time on top of the ship deck with airplanes, his beautiful wife Alice and his children. His favorite story became the bi plane ride that Diana took him on. This was a highlight for him after that. When I would go visit him we would go for walks out side and look up at all the planes and man he just lit up with a big ole smile. I was blessed to be a part of his life. 💕

Fred was a real gentleman! He was a great example of kindness and respect !
Diana and Barbara were fortunate to have such wonderful Father like Fred!

I loved Fred. He was so kind to me. Always had a smile on his face “By golly”.

He Loved talking about his military days, and was quite the story teller. I will never forget when I asked him for his daughter Barbara’s hand in marriage….. He told Barbara “That boy’s got big plans for you”.

Wish I had more time with him. Rest In Peace dad. I love you!

My dad was a wonderful grandpa to his three granddaughters Kristyna, Jennifer and Jessica.

Several times grandpa would help out with different school projects or even help create an invention of some sort for the Science Fair.

I am so very thankful that my dad was able to live long enough to become a great-grandpa to Kristyna & Matt’s 2 daughters Kapri & Skye, Jennifer & Zach’s daughter Samantha and son Beau and Jessica & Tim’s son Oliver ❤️

Fred was one of the lucky ones, having lived a long and wonderful life shared by a beautiful loving family. I enjoyed listening to some of his many life‘s stories, his jokes and his laughter. I did walk through his woodshop one day and was impressed at what a craftsman he was. I’m looking at one of his beautiful wine bottle holders he made for us and it’s doing what it was designed for. Whenever I look at it, I here him say by golly and smile. From now on whenever I hear or say by golly I will think of Fred. Fred was a great father to his daughters and a great friend to us all. He will be loved and remembered forever.

I will forever keep Fred in good memory. I will miss his stops by my entry door during his daily walks that prompted me to come out and chat with him. He was not a family member to me but his passing still makes me sad. He was such a nice man, always respectful and sincere, with a dry sense of humor, a funny play with words, and many stories to tell. In his presence, I always felt that we had a common, unspoken, understanding: Two individuals from two different cultures, different generations, with the same basic values in life. To me, that was always very enlightening and comforting.

I was lucky to have been invited over for the Fourth of July holiday because he had bought a bottle of Champagne as he knew I like Champagne. Together with his caretaker, we watched the Macy’s Fireworks Spectacular and had a very good time. He drank two glasses and was in great spirits with a big smile on his face.

He loved warm weather and sunshine, so on Saturday a week ago, I hope that he had a very safe journey.

Farewell, Fred.

Favorite memories of Fred And his wife Alice visiting us in Arkansas!! They would try to get back here once a year! Really enjoyed their company and they loved their family!!!❤️ Fred was a mighty fine guy and he will be missed dearly!!! His family are in my thought and prayers ! Hugs to all of you!!

I remember Fred as an always cheerful neighbor. His white truck was parked next to mine for as long as I lived there, even after he was no longer driving it. Memories for him, no doubt.

One of my favorite memories of my dad was back in 1968, and it was right around Christmas time.
While he was in the hospital he met an elderly gentleman who lived alone, and had no family, which really touched his heart.
I remember my parents talking about how no one should spend Christmas alone, and the next thing I know they were packing up the car with food and off we went.
That will be a memory I will always treasure.
