Jennifer Elizabeth (Forga) Hoffman

We deeply regret the loss of our dear Jennifer who died May 18, 2023, in San Diego. Born in Grass Valley on December 12, 1972, she attended Nevada City schools, graduating from Nevada Union High School in 1991, and in 1995, graduated from the University of Nevada-Reno, with a degree in English. While caring for her family, she worked part time, and volunteered at a children’s hospital. She was a lovely person who lit up our lives with her spicy personality and love of life.

She loved to dance, dancing with energy and spirit nonstop, wore clothes that didn’t always match (by design) and loved fancy boots. She stuck up for underdogs, always stood up to bullies, and added a bit of sass when appropriate. She liked to read and travel, and took joy in clambering about large granite boulders, and who couldn’t stay dry when near water. She was strong, determined and hardworking until the last.

She is survived by son Oliver and husband Robert Hoffman, brother Jason Forga and his wife Jennifer S., and their daughters Lauren and Camille, parents Susan and Mike Forga, grandfather Erling Nyhammer and many aunts, uncles, cousins, …. not to mention the myriad bits of art, sculpture, toys, design, and whimsy she created, that continue to surprise and delight us every single day.

Jennifer you are greatly missed and will never be forgotten. We love you very much.
