Our beloved mother and grandmother, Marjorie Sue Oliveira, passed away peacefully with family at her side on September 16, 2026 at the age of 84. A San Diego native, she was born on September 19, 1941 to Avery and Virginia Hawkins. Marjorie married John Douglas Oliveira in 1961, and devoted her life to her family and her faith. As an active member in the church, she taught Sunday school, attended weekly bible studies, and sang in the choir. Throughout her life, she supported multiple Christian charities and organizations, and enjoyed knitting beanie hats for Tabitha missions. She made and kept many friends during her work in food service at Kaiser Permanente, and was an avid Padre baseball fan. She is preceded in death by her husband John and her oldest son John Scott. She is survived by her daughter Donna, son Gregory, 7 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren and her sister Barbara. Visitation will be held at Erickson-Anderson Mortuary in La Mesa on September 30, from 5-8 p.m. A memorial service will be held at The First Baptist Church of Lemon Grove on October 1, at 12:30 p.m. We invite friends and family to share memories and celebrate a life well-lived.
