Mrs. Mary Louise Shirer (Priddy) died in La Mesa, CA on Sat., Sept. 27 at the age of 90. Mary was born on Sept.19, 1924 in Los Angeles, CA to Russell and Nan Priddy. Mary graduated from Glendale High School and then worked for the Pacific Telephone and Telegraph Company. Upon being transferred to San Diego with the phone company, she met and married Wayne Shirer in 1961. Mary was a loving wife and mother as well as an amazing Girl Scout Leader and accomplished genealogist, mapping the family to the 1700’s. She was a member of the DAR and the Colonial Dames. Mary is survived by her son, Richard Alvord of San Diego and Susie Murphy of Chula Vista and her brother, Robert Priddy of Roseburg, OR. She also leaves her long time companion, Captain Donald Brodhag, Navy Ret. She is preceded in death by her husband, Wayne Arthur Shirer. Mary will rest at El Camino Memorial Park in San Diego.
