Stephen Glenn Tarson was born on October 7, 1944, in Berkeley, California, to Lynne and Herbert Tarson. The son of a U.S. Army lieutenant colonel, Steve grew up embracing the excitement of military life, including frequent reassignments and the opportunity to experience new places. He also had a deep love of classical music. In 1970, Steve married Louise (Maffei) Tarson, and their daughter was born in 1974. Steve passed on October 15, 2026 and is survived by his wife of 56 years, Louise; his daughter and son-in-law, Ruth and Kevin Thompson; and his granddaughter, Iris Thompson.
